DARREN SCHUBACK

CO-FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Darren is a former executive level military officer with over 24 years of operational management experience in the Australian Defence Force.
Darren's experience includes operational oversight of a warfare operation command centre, a military training institution, naval warships and a special operations counter terrorism unit, and most recently capability management of multiple disciplines within Defence. In each of these roles Darren has designed and led the deployment of operational strategies to meet Australian Defence Force directives. Darren has a proven track record of 'making it happen' and his unwavering focus is now concentrated on doing the same with The Whiskey Project. 

Darren firmly believes that the organisational values of ownership, integrity, respect, teamwork and the continual pursuit of excellence are fundamental to business success, and he works hard to foster these attributes in the organisations that he leads.

RYAN CARMICHAEL

CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Before embarking on The Whiskey Project journey, Ryan built a formidable career in Defence and the Public Sector, including more than 15 years of highly accomplished and commended service as a Mine Warfare and Clearance Diving Officer with the Royal Australian Navy.

He has worked globally across complex environments with both government and industry, leading cross-functional teams to deliver practical outcomes and highly effective business solutions. An Executive Level professional, Ryan's experience has primarily been focused in the areas of command and leadership, operations, plans, project implementation and capability management roles. He also served distinguished tenures embedded with the Australian Special Forces (2nd Commando
Regiment) and the Royal Navy (UK). He is known for his expert knowledge as a specialist in the areas of maritime autonomous systems, ship handling and navigation, counter terrorism and mine warfare and clearance diving.

MIRANDA CARTER

STRATEGIC MARKETING DIRECTOR

Miranda Carter is a career marketer with a breadth of expertise that spans the full spectrum of advertising, copy-writing,
public relations, event management, brand development and strategic planning. 
From early in her career Miranda was drawn to the dynamic intersection of emerging businesses and new technology,
holding roles that included eBay Australia New Zealand’s first Marketing Communications Manager;
Asia Pacific Marketing Director for global software innovator Aventri, and a number of global marketing consulting roles.
Prior to joining The Whiskey Project, Miranda spent many years working with start-ups and SMEs and she has a practical understanding of the vulnerabilities and opportunities that are inherent in being a small business and the amplified significance of team, trust and tenacity.

REBECCA WARDROP

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Rebecca is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in financial accounting & assurance services across the
IT, manufacturing and professional service industries.  
Prior to joining the team at The Whiskey Project, Rebecca spent most of her career working with a global accountancy firm
in audit and assurance, serving a number of ASX listed and non-listed companies.
Rebecca also has extensive experience in international financial operations with tenures in the United Kingdom and New York.
